On the instructions of National President of Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, ex-servicemen under the leadership of Samajwadi Sainik Cell organized a candle march in all districts of Uttar Pradesh on Kargil Vijay Diwas. They tied black armbands to protest against the heinous acts of violence against women in Manipur.
Expressing deep anguish and condemnation, the ex-servicemen community rallied against the shocking incidents in Manipur, where the wife of a Kargil war hero was publicly humiliated and another freedom fighter's wife was tragically burnt to death. The ex-servicemen are deeply hurt by these incidents and expressed their displeasure towards the BJP-led Central and Manipur governments, as well as all related departments responsible for the welfare of soldiers.
During the candle march, the ex-servicemen expressed their disappointment with the BJP's alleged exploitation of the valor and sacrifice of the Indian Army for political gains during elections. They emphasized that talking about patriotism and the army becomes meaningless when the families of soldiers are not safe under the current government.
State President of Samajwadi Sainik Cell, Shri Sharad Saran, reiterated the ex-servicemen's demand for justice for the families and women of Kargil warriors and freedom fighters in Manipur. The ex-servicemen, who have always been ready to serve and sacrifice for the nation, vowed to continue serving society according to the army's principle of "Sarva Dharma Sambhav".
