On the last day of the election campaign, the Samajwadi Party's mayoral candidate Vandana Mishra left no stone unturned in her efforts to win the hearts of the voters. With the support of the party's frontal organization, district president, district in-charge, city president, and ward in-charge, she participated in road shows and padyatras across the city.
Ms. Mishra promised to make Lucknow a clean, green, and safe city for women. She pledged to improve education and healthcare facilities, especially for women. In addition, she announced that she would introduce Annapurna thali for just Rs 10 in shelter homes to provide affordable meals for the unorganized sector, including daily wage workers.
The mayoral candidate also promised to clean the Gomti River using bioremediation technology and weed harvesting technology to remove water hyacinth. She vowed to investigate the laying of sewer lines without proper leveling in the name of the Smart City initiative and hold the guilty accountable.
Furthermore, Ms. Mishra pledged to reduce house tax by half and waive water tax to ease the burden on the citizens. Her promises resonated with the people, especially the unorganized sector and women, who have been facing many difficulties due to lack of basic amenities.
The Samajwadi Party's campaign was led by former minister Arvind Singh 'Gope,' who commanded the election battle with the support of former office bearers of student unions from degree colleges, including Lucknow University. They actively implemented Mr. Gope's election strategy to secure heavy voting in favor of candidate Vandana Mishra through their network in various areas of the city.
In conclusion, the Samajwadi Party's mayoral candidate Vandana Mishra's promises for a clean, green, and safe Lucknow, along with affordable meals and clean Gomti River, have struck a chord with the people. It remains to be seen how much of an impact her campaign will have on the election results.
