Kanpur Municipal Police Commissionerate 2.0 continues its efforts to provide blood donation opportunities for children suffering from Thalassemia by organizing regular blood donation camps. The 24th blood donation camp organized by the Police Commissionerate in the Kakadev police station area saw 12 units of blood donated by generous blood donors.
Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that affects the production of hemoglobin, which is necessary to carry oxygen in the blood. Children suffering from Thalassemia require regular blood transfusions to manage their condition, and the Police Commissionerate's blood donation camps are a vital source of blood for these children.
The blood donation camp was organized with all necessary precautions and safety measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The donors were screened for their medical history and were also tested for COVID-19 before donating blood.
The Kanpur Municipal Police Commissionerate 2.0 has been instrumental in organizing regular blood donation camps, which have provided a significant amount of blood for children suffering from Thalassemia.
