In a major crackdown on the sale of counterfeit cigarettes, the police in Collectorganj have arrested four individuals and seized a large quantity of pirated goods. The recovered goods include cigarettes from various branded companies and have an estimated value of ₹54 lakhs.
The police acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid at a shop selling cigarettes in the area. During the raid, they found several packets of cigarettes that were being sold under the name of reputed brands, but upon examination, were found to be fake. The accused were immediately arrested and taken into custody.
