Man Arrested for Allegedly Forcing a Girl to Commit Suicide After Religious Conversion

The Kanpur Nagar Police Commissionerate has arrested Shahrukh Salmani, who was wanted in connection with a case of religious conversion and abetment to suicide. The accused, who was nominated by the Harvanshmohal Police Station, was apprehended by a police team and taken into custody.

According to the police, Shahrukh had allegedly coerced a young girl to convert to his religion, and had then forced her to commit suicide when she refused to comply with his demands. The incident had taken place a few weeks ago, and had sent shockwaves throughout the community.

After receiving a complaint from the victim's family, the police had launched a search for the accused, who had gone into hiding. After several weeks of investigation, the police were finally able to locate and arrest him.
