Birth centenary celebrations of Shri Madhu Limaye were celebrated today at Karan Bhai Auditorium, Lucknow

Birth centenary celebrations of freedom fighter and socialist thinker Shri Madhu Limaye were celebrated today at Karan Bhai Auditorium of Gandhi Bhavan, Lucknow. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Rajkumar Jain, former MLA of Delhi, Professor of Delhi University. On this occasion, the speakers expressed deep concern over the attacks on democracy, constitution and freedom of expression.

    Inaugurating the programme, Misa Bandi and former MLA Mr. Rajkumar Jain said that Madhu Limaye ji fought for the socialist movement while fighting against communalism and took it forward. Madhu Limaye ji used to stand like a rock against the atrocities committed against the workers. Today we have to repay the debt of Madhu Limaye ji.

    The chief guest of the program, former president of Hindi Sansthan and former MP of Samajwadi Party, Mr. Uday Pratap Singh threw light on the current situation of the country through his poems. He said that democracy, socialism and secularism all complement each other. The present government is attacking all three. We have to respond ideologically to the forces that weaken democracy.

    Special guest in the program, National Secretary of Samajwadi Party, Mr. Rajendra Chaudhary said that Samajwadi movement is a fight for system change. Election is a stage in that. Today, the socialist ideology in the country has no leader bigger than Mr. Akhilesh Yadav. In the form of Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, the socialist movement has a strong, energetic and visionary leadership.

    Mr. Rajendra Chowdhary said that today Mr. Akhilesh Yadav is leading the socialist movement and ideology which was taken forward by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Acharya Narendra Dev and Madhu Limaye and Netaji Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav.
